Vintage 1950’s rusty red & black iridescent satin lounge robe, often referred to as a smoking jacket. This robe is longer than most, and a larger size which can be more difficult to find in Vintage.
This has nice quality feel & weight to the robe. The iridescence in the fabric really is striking when it hits the light.
This robe has 3 pockets, one breast pocket (with it’s original top stitch over the pocket opening) and 2 lower hip pockets. There is a black satin shawl collar and cuffs with a satin sash as a tie closure.
This Lounge Robe is in EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION. with only minor flaws to be seen. The belted sash is not original to the robe, but matches pretty well with the collar and cuffs. Black satin are always hard to get a perfect match.. sometimes a warmer brownish black, sometimes a bluish black.
There is no maker’s label or size label attached to this lounge robe.
